Cruise on a motorized catamaran from St Lucia to Martinique for a day of fun in the sun and some serious shopping. In Martinique’s Fort-de-France, work your way through the best of French fashion and perfumes, as well as Creole crafts and jewelry. Then swim and snorkel in the serene cove of Anse Dufour. Enjoy a barbeque lunch and complimentary drinks on the boat. During the boat ride, keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, sea turtles and flying fish! Don’t miss this chance to treat yourself to a VIP day of nature and shopping.

Start your day trip in Martinique early in the morning. If you’re staying at a hotel on the northern tip of St. Lucia, enjoy a personalized pickup. If not, meet your guides directly at the IGY Rodney Bay Marina. You’ll board a 60-foot (18-meter) motorized catamaran. Have your passport with you, which you’ll need for your power-shopping excursions. You’re also welcome to bring your own snorkeling gear, as only snorkeling masks will be provided.

During the 90-minute ride north to Martinique, you’ll cross the St. Lucia Channel, where frolicking dolphins may greet and follow you. As you scan the water for sea turtles, don't be surprised if you witness some flying fish popping in and out of the water.

When you arrive at Martinique, dive into shopping right away at the duty-free port! After about 30 minutes, board the catamaran and take a short ride to the dock at Fort-de-France.

In Fort-de-France, where you’ll stay for a little under two hours, swipe that plastic over and over at the boutiques on Rue Victor Hugo and along Le Boulevard General de Gaulle. Alternatively, enjoy culinary aromas and pick up souvenirs at Le Grand Marché Couvert, the Covered Market. This large bazaar houses rows and rows of fragrant herbs and spices, delectable confectionary offerings, handmade wooden bowls, straw hats and Creole jewelry. After the flurry of shopping, stroll through the landscaped gardens in La Savane, Fort-de-France’s main park.

Back on the catamaran, set those shopping bags down and rest your feet during the short ride to the nearby cove of Anse Noir, lined with coconut trees and golden sand. Swim or snorkel in the clear and warm water, or work on a tan from the boat. Feast on the barbeque lunch provided and enjoy complimentary drinks on the boat. You have about three hours to enjoy this postcard-perfect shoreline.

After your idyllic afternoon, it’s time to head back to St. Lucia. Pull out the designer shades you just bought, sip complimentary Champagne, and bid farewell to the dolphins on your ride back to the Rodney Bay Marina.

Sample Lunch:

  • Barbeque chicken and fish
  • Burgers, hotdogs and fries
  • Salad
  • Banana flambé with ice cream

Soak up nothing but fun and sun with a day pass at beachfront Bay Gardens Resort in St Lucia. After lounging on white sands under a palapa, treat yourself to other perks of resort life. Tuck into a sumptuous lunch and enjoy up to four beverages. Choose between a blissful massage or two exhilarating water-sport activities — maybe join in the latest stand-up paddleboard craze. For one fine day, leave your worries behind.

Upon arrival at Bay Gardens Resort in Rodney Bay Village, enjoy access to the amenities of the beachside hotel. With all day to spend here on your beach lounger, choose from a variety of activities and feel like the elite with nothing but time to burn.

Golden that tan of yours on the white sanded beach until the sun-dappled Caribbean calls out to you. Cool off with a refreshing dip and then mosey over to a hotel bar to sip one of your four beverages included in the day pass (alcoholic or nonalcoholic house-brand drinks only).

One of the few decisions you’ll make during this stress-free day: unwind with a 20-minute massage at La Mer Spa, or indulge your adventurous spirit with two water-sport activities, or spend a half day at Splash Island Water Park with a complimentary pass. If you choose the latter, try your hand at the latest rage — balancing on a stand-up paddleboard that strengthens your core muscles as you pull yourself along in the water. Or lean in during hobie-cat sailing in the calm surf, great for beginners and avid sailors alike. Kayaking, water skiing or tubing also could be one of your two water outings. Receive gear and instruction as necessary for all these sports.

Remember to hydrate yourself throughout the day, and when your stomach rumbles in hunger, head over to a on-site restaurant, Hi Tide, and tuck into a delightful two-course meal. Perhaps you’ll want to snooze or freshen up inside a guestroom at the hotel, which is provided with your day pass, subject to availability.

When you’re done with your day of fun and pampering, retrieve your belongings and head back to your hotel.

Cross a spa resort with 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and you have Hotel Chocolat Boucan, a one-of-a-kind experience. Spend the day at one of St Lucia’s top hotels, built on an 18th-century Soufrière estate offering views of UNESCO-listed Petit Piton. Visit the hotel’s cacao plant nursery, make your own chocolate, and indulge in a gourmet lunch where dishes are cacao-infused. Then, give your skin a sun-kissed glow with a mud bath at Sulphur Springs. Finish the day with a snorkel near Petit Piton and watch a spectacular sunset during a catamaran cruise.

After a morning pickup from your North Island hotel, your full-day tour begins with a scenic catamaran cruise south to Soufrière (a light breakfast is provided on board). From there, take transport to Hotel Chocolat Boucan, located on the Rabot Estate dating back to the 18th century. At the hotel, marvel at its prime views of Petit Piton, a cone-shaped mountain rising out of Soufrière Bay, part of the Pitons Management Area designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Visit the on-site cacao plant nursery and enjoy a presentation of how cacao is harvested and produced. Then, make your own bar of chocolate using estate-grown cacao.

Next, stroll over to an open-air pavilion for a gourmet lunch at the hotel’s top-rated restaurant, where all the dishes are prepared with cacao or chocolate. Your sweet and savory lunch includes two courses and a juice. Depending on availability, your meal may include pork, chicken breast, fish or vegetables spiced with roasted cacao nibs. Want more? Try cocktails, sorbets and ice cream with a fresh tangy cacao flavor (own expense).

After your leisurely meal, head to the dormant Mount Soufrière, considered the world’s only ‘drive-in volcano,’ and site of Sulphur Springs. Ease yourself into one of the natural mud baths, the volcanic minerals rejuvenating your skin, and then wash off in a pool of warm springwater.

With your skin aglow, return to the catamaran and sail to the base of Petit Piton. Jump in for excellent snorkeling in a protected reef and coral garden, teeming with colorful reef fish and five-finger corals.

Then, watch a stunning sunset as you set voyage back to port. Your tour ends with drop-off at your North Island hotel.
